Pashmina comes from Persian word “ Pashm” means wool. Pashmina is one of the best known and widely produced weavings in Nepal. Pashmina is also known as “Cashmere”. The Pashminas weaved in Nepaland “Cashmere” weaved in Indiauses the same wool. This wool comes from a species of high mountain goat, Capra hircus that is found in Central Asia and along the Himalayan region. The wool from inner belly of Capra hircus goat is said to be one of the warmest wool in the world and better than the finest merino wool.
